Open letter
"Dear Solomon,
I hope this letter reaches you soon. Forgive the slightly unconventional method of communication: my message box would probably deliver this note faster, but due to circumstances I could not possibly predict in any way it got lost somewhere on my journey.
Please be assured that I have been receiving your correspondence before the box's unfortunate disappearance. It is absolutely wonderful that your bonds with Ferocity grow stronger and that she is finally opening up to the care and knowledge you could most definitely provide. I could almost take personal pride in that out of all possible arts she has chosen to master the creation of artifice. Your request to be her mentor in this pursuit is equally flattering, even if it is rooted solely in the fact that out of our little group of heroes I just so happen to be the only one capable of creating schemes (on the subject- how is Valen faring these days?).
You know, from the moment we all first saw the feisty child it was clear that Ferocity will have great potential; in fact, it was almost poetic how perfectly her temper corresponded with the name. I know little about human children and their growth, but she seems to have mastered the power of Wrath at such an early age- it was truly impressive, if a bit straining on my physique. Well, as they say, whatever doesn't completely succeed in splattering you across the walls makes you stronger. I'm sure that the time spent with you have softened the little darling's heart at least to the extent of not incinerating the "inhuman abominations" on sight (as, I believe, was the case last we've met). However, I am sure that for the time being you will be able to find a perfectly suitable teacher for your daughter amongst our conveniently located Zukan allies. Not that I hold anything against her, but it might be for the best if we became playmates in about five year's time; I cannot form attachments, but that never stopped mutually entertaining interactions with enthusiastic girls.
PS: Seeing how you may not completely share the humor of the last statement (or, in fact, the message)- I hastily inform you that I have yet again changed residence, general location, communication circles and appearance. And rid myself of any artifice that could potentially be tracked. Even my poor old message box.
PPS: My initiate was told to quietly slip away while you're reading; hopefully this letter is long enough for them to have done so. If not- well, they're a bad initiate, but I would appreciate you not burning them.
With everlasting love,
Yafdat."
